Well it's not stranded actually. The original plan (which they supposedly have all the approvals already for) was to ship it out of Ashburton via ship to ship transfer.
The only thing that stopped it at that time was the IO price. This whole Ashburton port facility idea only came along with the CZR proposal.
As to the IO price, as I have stated on many occasions it is now (and has been for several months now actually) well above what was modelled in the updated feasibility study. If they actually did what they should have been doing and got this thing up and going again, it would be printing money at these prices.
