Nah not WD related - it's first day of Q4 FY24, I reckon it's something they wanted in place pre PL5&6 results. to me it fits in the same bucket as PR firm - just getting prepared so they can always be on the front foot when offers appear.

These guys will do the research to give the board a good idea of valuation now and probably on completion of PL5&6. That way if an offer comes in, board can quickly act to recommend to shareholders to reject / approve.

then during an offer they are the capital market services team that helps navigate the bid process... They have skin in the game to get the best result. Great strategy from DM.

If you wanted a "for sale" sign that is anything other than verbal, this is it... This says "hey guys we've just appointed someone to be the sell side Capital Markets advisor. We're ready when you are."

what I like about this is that everyone who is important to the sale outcome has skin in the game
