It's interesting that Ting is getting these options before PL6 results, not after confirmation of their success.
We know that he has successfully scaled the memory cell stack to the requirements of the 20nm lot, as confirmed on PL5.
i.e. the substantial work is done and the rest is just known processing - they all expect it to work and now the risk is retaining Ting.
This also offers an incentive for the upcoming Infineon work.
Lets hope he makes $3m USD from these at least, and in short order...
