Doubt it's the driller, they're doing a 2 year $6m drilling programme. Would be lucky to have spent $1m so far of which Ganfeng pay half. It's now a JV expense not a FFX expense.
Just so happens the JV was completed last week. A part payment to Macquarie?
They would certainly know the value of FFX shares & maybe had an agreement to be paid in shares?
