When they were issued as part of capital raising 2 and 3 years ago the main share price was multiples lower than it is now.

If you read the just released Appendix 2A and scroll to the end you will see all the listed and unlisted share options, expiry and exercise prices. (Unlised ones are usually Director and Employee performance options, as well as Consultancy payments in options.

They said if you are just starting out then sticking to main shares might be better until can understand risk/ rewards of this type of listed options in full. Eg. Good for extra leverage, but be aware of negatives as Options have no voting rights and very little liquidity should you need to sell in a hurry.
Other point can be should a take over or licencing deal be struck, you may need to convert to be included in the deal. (However as the Directors all have millions of options, should this occur then plenty of notice will be given. )
