I mean gold has been discovered at the red dog\big red field in a quantity worthy of being mined. So, build the mine and dig down deep vertically but instead they've chosen to extend horizontally around the positive gold find and do another assay horizontally further out.
They need the balls to transition from horizontal exploration to vertical mining and resource development so they get some revenue flowing...
