Sorry Andrew, I may not have explained myself clearly, where in that paragraph does it specifically state “when diagnosing an asthma attack” or words to that nature...the paragraph does specifically state “lung function tests are used to check how the lungs are working...” and then list the different lung functions.

A lung function test can be used to test the severity of an exacerbation or attack - assuming it hasn’t already got to the stage where the patient can’t breathe.But this lung function test is not “diagnosing an asthma attack”.....it is testing the severity of an asthma event.I will say this for one final time. The condition of asthma is diagnosed.....the symptoms/events are monitored, measured, recognised and treated (not diagnosed!)
