General Trump Dump for all goldies today - got stopped out on my first re-entry yesterday, giving it another go this morning. Understand all the negative sentiment about the company and management, but just wanted to say that their idea of doubling down on Simberi isn't completely out of the blue, they would have done numerous studies into the Simberi expansion project over the years and the sad state of the SBM share price means that for them - using scrip to make acquisitions would be less than ideal given that most other goldies and their share prices are elevated until todays hopefully short term swoon.
If gold price does tank and takes the price of all gold miners and developers to the toilet, then time to review the decision, but I think this might just be a short-term blip in the gold price and not too consequential to the industry at large.
