This is exactly my issue. I don’t begrudge rewarding directors and employees generously for a job well done, and incentivising them to do even better. But this smacks of a vanity project at the moment, and I believe we need to see some action before we see people moving swiftly to butter their own toast. 5%+ of the market cap for the imagined glory of having his name associated with the business at this point. I don’t doubt his skill and knowledge but at this stage of life and career surely you are not financially self centred as a professional director. You know tone, perception and the importance of appearance, and so you show some tangible value and staying power to shareholders before you serve yourself from the buffet, whether it’s been approved or not. Totally unimpressed with the timing and the tone here.
