it is not so much his connections it is that he speaks the language of CEO / CFO's and knows what is needed to get an investment proposal onto a Boardroom table. That is an MRE and a business case built off the MRE showing payback, IRR and capex requirement.
With the MRE plus in hand he can do the rounds and join in the beauty parade. And i dare say, with the fed cutting rates and demand for au / cu rising, that will be a parade with a limited number of participants and none as cheap as STM.
