Won't the share holders have an excellent chance of eating really nice cakes if they pay the MD, responsible for growing sales and doubling profits on an annual basis, as well as the consultant remuneration experts reckon he should be paid ?

It's the process that public company independant directors use to set the MD's salary and performance incentives at an appropriate level. That is probably the only productive duty that they have.

I personally hope, and I'm sure the 95% of shareholders who regularly vote in favour of the remuneration report do also, that he is satisfied with that and is happy to keep us punters on board so he can have a bigger business platform on which to exercise his skills.

Talented people don't work for peanuts particularly when half of it disappears in tax.
