Personally, the cashless card doesn't bother me. Yes, information is collected and stored for law enforcement to access. I would expect a search warrant would be required and justification as to why access to information is required by law enforcement.
What would deter patrons is the time limits in place. I travel interstate every couple of months to stay for 2 nights at Star to gamble with family and friends. No-one wants to have to watch the clock knowing you are going to get checked on after 3 hours and told to have a break. Although, this would occur at Crown as well.
Why would anyone want to travel from overseas to Australia for gambling with these time restrictions in place?
I travel to Star because they do have good offers for Interstate guests. Qld is preferable to Sydney because of the complementary alcohol.
