Wow - $232m for 19.98% and they keep the other 6% - wasn't the big number they had hoped for BUT it gets them off the hook for having to stump up for this $1billion CR that virgin is looking like having - if AIZ still held its full 25-26% then that would have meant them stumping up $250m just to save being diluted - so I see this as a positive for AIZ's cash position and its still being reported that there will be a special dividend which if the NZ government want the cash could mean something like $200m paid out giving the NZ gov 100m or so when it needs some coin..
Air New Zealand shares on the NZX are already up 3% this morning..
