Many great and informative posts above. I just sat down after a very long day and trying to make sense of the announcement and crunch my own numbers. After discussing facts with my wife (Director tax specialist of mid tier accounting firm), to be honest none the wiser and have a headache. Will look at tomorrow again and will post anything that might be helpful. At this stage my gut feeling is disappointment and feeling of missed opportunity. Another part of me says I should be grateful having purchased circa 20 cents in Feb this year in our SMSF. I’m sure Sam would be throwing his hands in air with comments such as this however I have had much greater expectations/hope/belief. To be honest I’m all over the place with my thinking and very tired however should not lose any sleep. As my partner stated, based on details provided, this is highly complex and there are so so many variables based on what has been announced. In my view Sam has a track record of understating announcements so perhaps this is a better result than market is pricing? Anyways, as someone much smarter than me once stated, you can’t go broke making a profit. Good luck to all holders and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
