That is one point that I have had swirling around in my mind as well. Now this is only my initial thought and so requires initial research as I am no expert in FIRB rules and procedures however I was a bit surprised to hear RC state that the FIRB would effectively not have any jurisdiction or influence over the matter of foreign ownership changes.
I still would have thought that a company domiciled in Australia despite having its primary operations offshore would still fall under the purview of the FIRB.
