I agree. It doesn’t even make sense to me. You can buy a CAM share now for $0.865 and get a fully franked dividend stream of 5c per annum (which grosses up to about 7c with franking credits; giving a grossed up return of 8%), or buy a convertible note for $0.96 which gets you 6.25c pa in interest that carries no franking benefit? Why would anyone take up their entitlements, especially given the CNs are likely to be thinly traded until they convert in 4 years time. Seems to me the only way the CNs would be attractive is if CAM management plan on cutting CAM dividends?...
