The department already responded to Provaris in November 2022 regarding this and asked for an additional EIS to be completed. This is on track for second half of 2023. There is further works happening on site while this is being completed thanks to the local community support. The last thing the company wants to do is rush the locals into making this project happen tomorrow after the whole Santos fiasco with the Tiwi people. The fact that Provaris has gained access to land that was previously heavy industry is a big positive. So far government support has been positive. Provaris appears to be in constant engagement with locals regarding the project, demonstrating each step slowly with them and reassuring this is a project for local income, jobs and future green energy. Something Santos appeared to just ignore.
