"The Patent obviously protects the IP" – it's a provisional patent application, and the announcement makes it quite clear that it provides absolutely no protection. All it does is establish priority once an actual patent has been granted.
"news flow after Patent granted will increase" – this may be true, but the path from patent application to patent granted takes years and the company has not even lodged the application yet. This possible increase in news flow you refer to could be five years away.
