ARAFURA WELCOMES TREATMENT PLANT ACQUISITION
17th November 2003
The Directors of Arafura Resources NL (“Arafura”) welcomed the announcement by
Greater Pacific Gold Limited (“Greater Pacific”) that they had entered into an
agreement to acquire the Union Reefs gold treatment plant from Anglo Gold Australia
Ltd.
Mr Mick Muir, the Managing Director of Arafura, stated that the Union Reefs plant
would play an important part in the Arafura`s plans for their Mt Porter and Frances
Creek tenement holdings in the nearby region. The Union Reefs plant is 20 km from
Mt Porter and 25 km from Frances Creek accessible by well established roads.
Mr Muir confirmed that Arafura was one of the “third parties” referred to by Greater
Pacific in their stock exchange announcement on November 13.
“The Directors of Arafura congratulate Greater Pacific on the agreement and look
forward to dealing with them and processing ore through the Union Reefs plant” said
Mr Muir.
Arafura, which listed on the ASX on 5 November 2003 stated in its recent prospectus
that its Pine Creek tenement package in the area contained the following:

“Arafura will commence a short drilling program at Mt Porter as soon as a rig is
available to check continuity of high grade mineralized zones” said Mr Muir. “The
material obtained will also have detailed metallurgical testing for optimizing gold
recoveries”
