Well that announcement played right into the hands of whoever has been accumulating the stock!
IMO this stocks needs to be part of a larger listed asset manager. Cost synergies would be massive (overheads, distribution, remuneration), governance improvement would stem outflows, and fund managers would just get on with performing rather than dealing with internal distractions.
Today's close may well give a clue as to what's happening....
