Probably the best announcement last 12 months. I do like how they outline the issues with viral vectors to insert genetic material, being cumbersome, manual, not really scalable etc etc, but the prevalent technology used now. Clearly they see that as as inefficient path to go down. They clearly have a vision for several steps down the process that will ensure scalability anywhere in the world. They have also seen sense to partner with a behemoth in the space but retain the rights to any outcomes from the program. And it is costing them nothing ! Makes me wonder which party actually sees more value here. You would have to think that if the outcome are good Thermo Fisher would be prime position to make a tilt at a takeover.
Might not move the SP now, but I suspect sets us up well for 12 to 24 months out and lets face it, biotechs a long game.
