The problem I have is I have seen a few companies that constantly venture into new operations to look like they are doing something productive, when all they are really doing is covering for the fact that they are not really doing anything productive with their current venture. When one venture peters out, they just start a new one and say "look at all the good stuff we are doing". This is an easy way to cover up lack of skill in management, while draining resources.
Conversely, good management will also do the same thing, however they will actually progress each venture. Hopefully DEG is the latter, however it is really hard to tell if that is the case right now. Ah the fun of specs.
