I think people are focusing to hard on the one material. Thinking of the bigger potential picture here. If the parts pass all the proof of concepts and testing I can see it blowing up as well.
Like I imagine a future were replacement parts could be printed on site. Rather than maintenance teams having to wait potential weeks for replacement parts, at major airports, they could have units setup to be able to quickly and efficiently 'print' all sorts of replacement parts on demand.
Long road to go but this is one to hold and just keep in the back pocket for a few years IMO, development and proof of concept will take time... but if boeing will be happy after this one.... only time can tell.
