I came across this documentary totally by accident (was not even looking for anything to do with Ti or rutile, etc) - 18 mins long, produced 10 months ago and provides information on titanium (uses history, etc). I can understand why it is so high on the critical minerals list. The most interesting part is from 15.45 and this is my summary of that part:

There have been no significant major rutile discoveries for 50 years. (I found this fact quite amazing).

There are 2 prominent Western rutile mines which will close in the next few years and no major mines planned to be opened in foreseeable future.

Analysts are projecting constrained supply and upwards pressure on prices.

Ilmenite deposits are the most common deposits of TiO2 accounting for 95% of global production. Producers are turning to producing synthetic titanium as an alternative.

All this sounded encouraging for PTR’s potential world class discovery.

What part will PTR play in the future of titanium?
