"InTrading commenced selling gas directly into the Italian market in October 2012. Under this approach realised gas prices will vary from month to month, but are expected to be higher than otherwise possi-ble through multi-year contracting. The risk of non-payment is lower than multi-year contracting by virtue that the counterparty, SNAM Rete Gas, is acting as a national government agency.
This approach also provides greater operational volume flexibility with no upper or lower volume limits on daily gas delivery. Payment terms are 45 days and so there will be a consequential one-off increase in receivables the fourth quarter as we move to these new arrangements."
