    Sales people I have worked with have been closer to the $120-200K mark.

    You are correct in saying that the base is not always great. The bonuses and perks however can be fantastic.

    The health industry is a completely different story. I have seen anything from $60K to $100K to $400K - the scale is crazy. The higher end is rare.
