If you can predict the macro cycles (boom/bust economically, boom/bust in share price valuations, boom/bust in various technologies etc) then by all means plug into the savant that you are and invest on that basis.

For the rest of us, Dicker Data shows a business that continues to grow, take market share, expand into adjacent areas and continues to deliver long term income and capital returns for most holders that have held for over 3 years.....yes perhaps if you bought in the last 24 mths you are down (arguably that was a function of the sharemarket getting carried away rather than anything the company have done), but the company has paid a dividend along the way and there is better than even chance that in 3 years this company will be worth more than it is today (and in the meantime, you will still get your 5% dividends a year).

If you are planning to hold for under 12-24 mths, best to look elsewhere given all the issues this company faces (recession, rates, retail demand, accelerated covid sales brought demand forward, supply chain, technology rollover, integration, inflation, margins etc etc)....for some of us that just want to forget a part of the portfolio for 3-5 yrs and sleep comfortably at night knowing it will be here in 2028, this seems like a low risk option
