That's why I generally don't try the sort of endeavour that hazyg managed to execute successfully - I am not agile enough and often get the timing wrong. Had I tried it today, for example, I would have missed out on much of the rebound.

However, I do appreciate it when it does come off, and I don't see it as an offence against my usual strategy when someone else takes a risk and it works out for them. hazyg timed their play brilliantly. I have no idea how frequently they do it or how often it works out for them, if they tried it again and failed today, but for a brief period of time they correctly anticipated what the market would do and came out ahead. This stock has dropped by 20-25% in the last 5 months (moreso if counting the intraday low) on the back of bad announcements many did not see coming, so I'll celebrate anyone who can mitigate some of that loss and end up with the same holding at the end.
