Is there any way they can do that without screwing shareholders?
With PNR's 6.4 billion shares and WGX's 1 billion shares there would be a massive share overhang.
Would be just like how Silver Lake shareholders got done when they merged with Red 5 - Vault Minerals (the new entity) has 6.8 billion shares on issue now and the SP isn't going anywhere fast with that dilution.
Nobody wins there except the directors.
