Value investor still needs to adjust strategy when things go south. Myer had been dropping since the beginning. I am not sure what limit of loss you set for your investment strategy, but you would have one if you're expert at "investment thesis". I've seen investors long Myer when the share's up a dollar, and still here when it's in the low 60s. I am not very sure what type of value investment you're talking about here. Everyone's wrong up until he's right, all I am certain now is that Bulls had been wrong for this particular stock. At the end of the day, you bear your own loss anyways, I made money with Myer by trading short term as I don't believe it's a growth or value stock to hold; while I have invest in a few growth stocks since their IPO and made 2-3 folds. You're right, it's totally fine whatever style you trade, making money is the best way to prove you're right.
