I have now had the opportunity to sit down and watch and even re-watch the update that was the cause of so much discontent on the forums and, allegedly, in the market, and I am just sitting here, scratching my head trying to work out what all the fuss was about.

The profession that pays my bills places a higher than usual emphasis on the value attached to time, right diwn to 6 minute increments.

Having been duly ingrained with this metric over the years, I find myself applying similar behaviours in my own time and get easily frustrated with communications that lack in substance. I find that I now prefer to watch recordings of presentations rather than the original, purely so that I can play them at 1.5x speed, chipmunk style, and tap the "skip forward 10 seconds" button where necessary.

I'm all for straight facts, so I can get down to the business of considering what has been presented and formulating my position as a result. I get frustrated by anything designed to pad, manipulate or obfuscate on the delivery of same, so the simple, straightforward slide of points, used primarily to prompt LDN's clearly script-free presentation updating us on the status quo of the Co's operations was refreshing and indicated to me that this company doesn't need to splash cash on shiny distractions.

BRN has all its ducks in a row and shortly will begin an intense period of providing evaluation engineer support to over 100 judiciously selected EAP participants. I am more than happy with the LDN's presentation and am of the view that those who were not may well be struggling with the fact that they possibly didn't fully comprehend the more specialist, technical discussion of what was on foot for the co, and this translates to a criticism that the presentation was therefore somehow deficient.
Just my view. I was pretty happy with it.
