Need to keep in mind the extra pressure in northern hemisphere when it comes to lifting travel restrictions. In addition to deciding the impact in short term business healt for many industries where most impacted being tourism and travel the governments are also making a decision wether everyones annual leave is worth something the employees have been looking forward to or a total pancake. There's no similar pressure in Australia and therefore the discussion in media is different.
What you wrote about sewage testing and covid circulation is something I find hard to understand.
