By the way, 2 million reward points at the rate of 1c is worth 20k or 60k at 3c valuation !!! not what everyday Australian holds on their Qantas reward card.

Let me explain why value of points goes down if you understand this.

Person A, has 10000 points and he went to book a flight which cost $10. Now person A redeemed all 10000 points and get $10 worth flight seat.

Person B, has 20000 points and he went to book same flight which cost $10 but he needs to book it through classic plus which means he has to give 20000 points to book a same seat worth $10.

hence, value of points received by person A is higher then value of points received by Person B. Hence, point value goes down under the classic plus reward scheme.

This devaluation could potentially discourage participation in the program, especially for those with limited points balances.
