This morning, QAN also announced that from July 2022, it will cut international ticket sale commissions from five to a measly one per cent.
If I was a travel agent, I'd simply encourage vacationers and business travellers to use other airlines.
What a shortsighted move by QAN, even though its mired in debt and very vulnerable to any rise in interest rates.
Travel agents still book a huge number of international flights. I never do it online because time and time again I save money by using an agent, and have at least a limited backstop should something go wrong. I've never had the latter occur but like insurance, the solace is present.
