Ann: Qantas to Acquire Alliance Aviation, page-2

Under the agreement announced today, the remaining 80 per cent would be acquired through a scheme of
arrangement where Alliance shareholders receive Qantas shares worth $4.752
for each Alliance share they hold, representing a 32 per cent premium to Alliance’s volume weighted average price for the past three
months. Qantas would issue new shares valued at approximately $614 million in a transaction that is expected
to be EPS accretive for Qantas shareholders, before synergies.

I expect the SP to go to $4.75 since it seems new shares issued to fund the acquisition would be at the same price as what AQZ shareholders would receive. Just my opinion and open for scrutiny. This is great for AQZ shareholders who sell out before the transition on the huge SP hike today but not so great for those who stay and hold their QAN shares. I expect many a shareholder to take their profits in QAN in the coming weeks from this announcement. Such a shame AQZ is being taken off the table.
