re: Ann: QBE announces acquisition of NAU Cou... I think, although I am not sure, that most of the costs will fall on the airlines rather than on personal travel insurance. Right now a lot of the airlines are covering the costs of delays - food vouchers, accommodation and the like.
I wonder if the airlines insure agains this sort of event? Perhaps if the cost exceeds a certain amount, they have insurance.
