That QBE is nearly in the green is baffling to me. But as a holder I'm not complaining...yet!
Also RE the Australian market underperformance...if you held the index in an ETF you would also have received decent dividends over the life. Still not great, but also better than bank interest return since the GFC.
Also, compare the ASX200 to DJ from Jan-2000 to Nov-07 and you'll see how much better the Australian market fared in that period so obviously in the long run things would eventually even out.
