"Would love to know what the rationale was for Tech funding not forthcoming"
How about the fact it wasn't going to be profitable? Or nickel boom periods have historically been short lived so when it does boom, who's going to put up $4B for something that probably goes bust before it's finished being built? If you're relying on the govt to fund it, that just proves you even know it's not feasible
