    Exactly right. Solar and wind (and traditional hydro) are intermittent generators dependent on weather conditions. A certain level of coal-fired baseload generation, plus gas-fired peaking generation, will always be needed - until perhaps one day when there is sufficient energy storage capacity in the grid.
