A lot of people have limited understanding of this domain though and I'm trying to help set expectations that are in the remote realms of possibility. We are talking about building block tech to a prototype component that could eventually be used in a computer. That is a 'years' timeline (12-18m as communicated for TRL 2-4).
You also have to understand that these devices are not for general purpose computing - they are for particular problems.
The money is in sub licensing post the first development stage (TRL 4/5) with someone big. Manufacturing anything beyond prototypes would require $hundreds of millions/billions and the expertise of a big semiconductor company and you have to reach TRL9.
