Any takeover by VEN would probably be an all scrip offer and their share price is in the doghouse too .
Frankly it would make sense to me as it would remove some costs and there would be a clearer way ahead with a bigger company .
Of course what would be the ratio might be a sticking point .
Maybe the third member of the JV might be interested to take out both VEN and MEL .
They have capacity to make a cash offer .
Both VEN and MEL look cheap based on the proposed production rates .
