I suspect that Talnode Si will be used for more high performance applications as it has a higher energy density. This is great for high performance EVs (Porsche) or even eVTOLs (Lilium) where cost isn't as much of a factor. It will be required in lower volumes at least initially, however it's forecast that 40% of all EV batteries will contain some silicon by 2026.

Most OEMs are trying to reduce the cost of batteries (80% is from the raw materials). Talnode C will still provide great performance but will be lower cost and larger volumes for most EVs.
