it's always puzzled me too when companies knowing they will need future cash don't go to the market at a more opportune time. They can't just throw in a CR when they feel like it however without demonstrating need so that's possibly why they have to wait until they are on their knees before organising their next CR to the detriment of shareholders once again - but it could often be done earlier IMO.
Of course there is no CR right now but it's hard to see how there soon won't be.
