Every farming operation has competition and gluts of whatever it is there growing, farming is region seasonal. Most farms if they havent any competition within the next season they certainly will, this is how it works. The smart ones survive and the others go find the next crop to try and make some bucks on.

Happened with cotton for years everyone was making a motza then everyone jumped on the bandwagon, happening with tree nuts at the moment although it will be a decade before there is an oversupply if ever with the consumption in Asia going up every year.
