The only thing really holding this stock up is COVID-19. While at present the recorded numbers are low, the fears are they are much higher. PNG health system is rudimentary in many respects, and it already has an alarming incidence of HIV infections, and too PNGs credit, many of these men and women are on life saving HIV antiviral therapies. Multi-resistant T.B. is also a problem. I thing its highly unlikely the PNG authorities will allow normal commerce to be conducted with remote communities till the CV-19 situation is under control. Many of the contractors and their workers will need to come from the PNG mainland. FIFO Australian workers would have to transit through the mainland and hence would be subject to strict QLD like procedures .... for true believers in GPR, acceptance of a prolonged SP malaise may be needed.
Meanwhile, WA projects like RED's KOTH project should be able to progress .... the Australian government has just dispatched a medical team to PNG to assist with CV-19 programs .... no country will remain untouched by this pandemic.
Its a question of wether you go down the path of Brazil and other Sth American countries or Australia.
