To the best of anyone's knowlege has E25 taken a run of mine sample from after the log washer and sent it to one of the places that does DMS testing to see what results a DMS plant is would achieve?
- At a minimum this provides a benchmark level of performance around that the optical sorter needs to reach to be equivalent or better than DMS. If clay on the RoM also stuffs up the DMS, stop at this point.
- If it confirms DMS will work with RoM at a the same or better grade and same or better reliability than optical - the discussion should shift to what price and size plant. It would provide valuable inputs into the upgrade business case.
- If DMS is the way to go, it may be better to initially go with a smaller (cheaper) DMS plant that adds only modest capacity (but in conjunction with the optical screener allows >1,000t/d). Use this smaller DMS plant to de-risk a bigger upgrade and prove things work as expected in a real-life situation. When this is confirmed, buy a bigger DMS plant that will deliver the doubling/trippling of production.
A quick google noted this Canadian outfit delivering what is discussed above using 100kg+ samples. There must be a bunch of Australian outfits that deliver a similar service given all the mining Australia does.

But isn't this 101 stuff?
