Standing Committee on Law and Justice Report is nothing less than I'd expect from modern government and I wouldn't expect any contrition or recognition that shabby processes were even able to allow this in the first instance. That said, and I'm happy to be corrected, with the quashing of the Macdonald and Maitland convictions it is still to be proven that any laws were broken.

From the MP Fang foreword 'Questions also remain as to who will be compensated, particularly given the risks shareholders routinely take when investing in the share market' - because we all make our investment decisions based on the fact government will expropriate legally obtained assets from a company without compensation.

That this issue lingers on is a blight on our parliamentary processes.

One thing is for sure and certain - if this were a solar farm instead of a coal mine this would have been sorted long ago.
