I've been meaning to pad out the extraction efficiency matrix post (posted here: https://hotcopper.com.au/posts/39448953/single) using a different graphic to illustrate why I am expecting much higher grades than those returned from the (partial) extraction testwork, i.e.:
If you want to get a feel for what grades we might expect during mining or from an assay method measuring the true grades, look at the best extraction testwork results, maybe the top decile because they are much more representative that the lower grade extraction results, keeping in mind that the mineralisation is disseminated, widespread and pervasive, independent of the host rock lithology.
I plotted up the Cumulative Frequency of the TE RC drilling grades to serve as a proxy for the Extraction Efficiency. Grades returned from testwork with poor extraction efficiency would return a much higher grade if the correct parameters were used in the testwork.
Of course, 90% on this chart could actually be 50% of the true grade. We'll know when we get an accurate assay method.
