Fear drives the herd of sheep in one direction, more follow, and it gains momentum. This will bounce hard and run nicely when it does.
If understanding the ASX seems difficult, remember that the first step to understanding it is accepting that it is not rational. This is actually a wonderful thing, because it causes the market to do stupid things which you can take advantage of. If it was always rational and sensible, it would be much more difficult for you to compete and make money.
