I can’t imagine how devastating a cancer diagnosis would be at this time. Not being able to have access to family or support networks and having to be locked down is the stuff of nightmares. Declining to participate in a trial would be completely understandable. Candidates don’t have the same intimate knowledge of the technology and it’s potential as we do.

Let us hope IBX lift the frequency and quality of communication from this point. In the long run if the technology works then these moments will be forgotten.

I disagree. Covid lockdowns do not apply to people seeking medical treatment. Even during Melbourne's very severe 120 day lockdown people were still permitted to travel from home for medical reasons. So I don't see the pandemic in any way interfering with the trial recruitment. Furthermore I doubt there was a staffing issue as medical workers are deemed "essential" workers and therefore not restricted from their attending their medical workplace.
